Damage Waiver
Optional coverage that waives your liability for collision damage to the rental — with the exclusions spelled out below.
What is the Damage Waiver?
The Damage Waiver is an optional coverage plan designed to protect you from financial costs in the event of damage to the rental vehicle. All rentals come with liability insurance, but this policy covers damage to the rental vehicle itself, similar to collision and comprehensive insurance.
How Does It Work?
Accept the Damage Waiver on your rental agreement and your liability for collision damage to the Truck/MTC unit is waived, and you aren't charged for the days it's in the shop. The rental agreement's Terms and Conditions set out the details.
What is Covered?
With the Damage Waiver, you're covered for:
Collision damage to the truck body, MTC unit, interior and roof.
Loss of use while the vehicle is repaired.
Windshield damage.
What is Not Covered?
The Damage Waiver does not cover:
Tires, rims, wheels and the undercarriage.
Rescue, recovery or towing, the cost of swapping or replacing a unit, and theft or non-return of the vehicle.
Damage from any prohibited use under the rental agreement (unlicensed or impaired driving, overloading, towing, reckless use), which voids the waiver.
Claim Process
In the event of an incident, you must notify MTC Rentals immediately. We will assist you in finding a solution that meets your needs.
What is my Responsibility if I Decline?
If you decline the Damage Waiver, you are fully responsible for all costs associated with repairing or replacing the Truck/MTC unit in the event of damage. This includes:
The full cost of repairs or replacement of the vehicle.
The rental cost for the duration the vehicle is in the shop for repairs.
Any additional fees or charges that may arise from the incident.
We suggest customers insure our Truck/MTC for $175,000 replacement value if they decline the damage waiver.
